PsyFi questions, answered
What the plan costs, how bank connections work, what FY is allowed to do on its own, and how to leave. If something here is not clear enough, tell us and we will fix the answer.
Plans and billing
- Why is there just one plan?
- We built one plan because we believe fragmented products create fragmented financial lives. You have one life and one money story, rather than a Basic self, a Pro self, and a Pro Max self. So there is a single plan that includes everything: your personalized coaching avatar, financial‑personality quizzes, behavioral insights, full dashboard, and more.
- Why is your price all or nothing?
- Our pricing reflects the full value of the system: AI guidance plus behavioral design. You're not paying for a static tool, you're paying for an evolving coaching experience that grows with you.
- What exactly am I paying for?
- You're paying for secure account connections, AI analysis of your real finances, personalized coaching flows, and lots of psychology driven behavioral tools that help you follow through, delivered in one integrated experience.
- Is there a free trial?
- Yes. You get a 7‑day free trial with full access to PsyFi. Connect your accounts, explore the dashboard, and test the coaching flows. We'll remind you before your trial ends, and you can cancel anytime.
- Can I get a refund or cancel anytime?
- You can cancel anytime. If something doesn't feel right, reach out to us and we'll do our best to make it right.
Getting started
- How do I start using PsyFi?
- Create an account, take the short money-personality questions, and connect the accounts you want PsyFi to see. Coaching gets more specific once real account data is connected, but you can explore the app and the free calculators before connecting anything.
- Is PsyFi available on iPhone and Android?
- Yes. PsyFi is available on the App Store and Google Play, and the web app works in any modern browser. Your account and data stay in sync across all of them.
- Do I need to connect a bank account to try PsyFi?
- No. You can browse the app, take the financial-personality quizzes, and use every free calculator without connecting a bank. Connecting accounts is what lets the coaching reference your actual spending rather than generic advice.
- Are the calculators free to use?
- Yes. Every calculator on the site is free and needs no signup, for both the US and Canadian tool sets. They cover mortgages, retirement, debt payoff, emergency funds, take-home pay, and more.
Accounts and data
- How does PsyFi connect to my bank?
- Through Plaid, which handles bank authentication directly. PsyFi never sees or stores your bank credentials, and the connection is read-only, so PsyFi can read transactions and balances but cannot move money.
- Can PsyFi move money or make transactions?
- No. Bank connections are read-only. FY can prepare and recommend actions, but meaningful financial changes require your approval and stay inside the guardrails you set.
- What happens to my data if I cancel?
- You can disconnect any account at any time, and you can request full account and data deletion from the delete-account page. Cancelling a subscription does not by itself delete your data, so use that page if removal is what you want.
Security and privacy
- Is PsyFi secure?
- PsyFi is SOC 2 Type II and ISO/IEC 27001 certified. Data is encrypted with AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.2 or higher in transit, HSTS preload is enforced, and security controls are monitored continuously.
- Does PsyFi sell my financial data?
- No. PsyFi does not sell your personal or financial data. The privacy policy sets out exactly what is collected, why, and who processes it on our behalf.
AI coaching and FY
- What is FY?
- FY is the AI agent inside PsyFi. It reads your connected accounts, goals, and budgets before it answers, routes the question to a specialist mode such as Planner, Coach, or Therapist, and can prepare actions for you to approve.
- Does PsyFi replace a financial advisor?
- No. PsyFi helps with financial wellness, habits, planning context, and product workflows. For regulated advice, tax, legal, or complex investment decisions, speak to a qualified professional.
- What makes this different from a budgeting app?
- Budgeting apps report what already happened. PsyFi is built around the follow-through gap: it combines account data with more than 85 behavioral techniques to change what you do next, not just categorise what you did.
- Will FY change things without asking me?
- No. FY runs in assisted mode by default, which means approval is required before any meaningful change, and every action is recorded in an audit trail.
Still deciding?
